Enter the Cherokee Memories Contest for a Chance to WIN $100 to the Museum’s Online Gift Shop

We have received so many messages from people longing to be in Cherokee this spring, to visit the attractions, enjoy the outdoors and beautiful mountains, and be surrounded by our people and culture. While we know this has been a tough time for everyone, it’s been so uplifting to read your messages and hear how special Cherokee, NC, is to so many people from all over the world. 

While we’re still working on a phased re-opening, we’d like to invite all of you to share your favorite photos and memories of time spent in Cherokee, as part of a Cherokee Memories Contest on social media. Let’s share those beautiful moments and celebrate what makes Cherokee, NC, so unique!

As a thank you, we’ll select one winner to receive $100 to the online gift shop of the Museum of the Cherokee Indian. Their curated line of books, art prints, clothing, ornaments, souvenirs, crafts and jewelry features something for everyone! 

The Cherokee Memories Contest launches Monday, May 11 and runs for 4 weeks. On June 12, we’ll announce the winner of the contest, and share their Cherokee photo and story on our social channels and the Visit Cherokee NC blog.

How to enter 

Post a photo that you think captures the essence of Cherokee, along with a description of what you love or miss the most about Cherokee. You can post your memory to the Visit Cherokee NC Facebook page, or to your own Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and use the hashtag #CherokeeMemories. 

Entry Directions for Guests with Private Social Media Accounts

For those with private Facebook accounts, share your best photos on your profile using #CherokeeMemories, and then share them or direct message them to us at our Facebook page: Visit Cherokee NC. For private Instagram accounts, share your best photos on your profile with #CherokeeMemories and then direct message them to us on our Instagram account: @VisitCherokeeNC.

The rules

Post as many Cherokee Memories as you like. This contest is open to anyone 18+, and only open to residents of the United States. One winner will be selected at random to win a $100 gift certificate to the online shop of the Museum of the Cherokee Indian. The gift certificate covers shipping within the United States only. Unfortunately, we cannot cover international shipping.

Look through your trip photos from Cherokee, NC, and send us those standout memories. Some ideas include:
